On July 14th, PAWS Therapy Teams attended the Monroe Safety Expo. The teams visited with children and their parents, and as always these gentle therapy dogs were a huge hit! The human half of the team educated children about pet care, dog safety, and "fixing" pets, while the canine half dispensed kisses and showed off their various tricks. We handed out information about PAWS programs, spay / neuter, and basic pet care, as well as several hundred coloring pages! A big thanks to Claudia Long (Mini-me), Sandra Lunte (Jack), Liz Faulke (Charlie), Bette Jones (Andy), and Penny Schwich (Roxie) for volunteering. Over 4500 people attended this annual event, so it is a great way to spread awareness about the problem of, and solution to, pet overpopulation.
